Sierra's adoption

March 2, 2006 Today we visited the orphanage! What an emotional day it has been for all three of us. To see the place in which Sierra has lived for the past two years. To meet the "other" ladies in her life. To have her not want to come to me after being with her aunties. To have her cry when we leave. It broke my heart. We left the orphanage and the director took us to her finding spot. Another emotional place and always will be. It was at a park in the city. As a mom I think how can someone leave her child and then as a mom but maybe for a better life. We will never know but we will know that we will give Sierra the best life that we can give her. After going to dinner with the director at the orphanage, Sierra really opened up. Chatter box like her mother. I would love to know what she is saying. But those SLPs out there would be proud of her ability to sign more and to already say the word car. Looking at cars all the way to the motel was her great entertainment!! I am going to play around this computer tonight so maybe I can get the pictures up!! Thank you again for all your prayers and support. We miss you all and love you all!!!!!!!!!!

What a precious gift to be able to connect with her past. I know how much you will treasure that in the days to come.
I am glad to hear that Sierra's transition is going relatively smoothly. Enjoy getting to know all you can about her homeland. She will want you to tell her every detail at some time in the future.
We can't wait to see you all safely home. Know that you are still in our prayers and in our thoughts.
Give your little girl a hug and kiss just from us.
    Love,
    Brenda

Sounds like things are going well for you. So glad you were able to visit the orphanage and see where Sierra spent her life so far, even though it was an emotional day for all. Were you able to see our little boy? Anxious to hear!

How incredible! I can't even imagine your joy! So glad to hear her physical health is great and her therapy/surgery won't be as bad as you thought. IT won't take long before Daddy is in the picture a LOT more! This is so awesome! Hugs to all.

What a roller coaster....but what an incredible feeling it must be...the anxiety to show her the world...her new world...to take her to a loving home with a loving family...and to see all of her firsts. She is now where she is meant to be. FINALLY...and you will all be home soon. I can't wait to see her. We all miss you Miss Lisa, and we are anxious to meet Sierra. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
    Love, Rashelle
